Toro Rosso shocked everyone with the appointment of 19 year old Daniil Kvyat to fill the void left by Red Bull bound Daniel Ricciardo.
Antonio Felix Da Costa lost out to his flatmate Kvyat much to the surprise of everyone. Da Costa was always in the minds of the Red Bull bosses, it was believed the majority of insiders that Da Costa was the next in line for a crack at F1.
The massively talented driver has been part of the Red Bull young driver programme but a mixed season for Da Costa opened the door for Kvyat.
The Russian won the GP3 Championship in at the final round and has impressed everyone with his speed. Many believe he got the gig down to "politics", with the first Russian Grand Prix taking place this season Toro Rosso may have pulled a master stroke here.
