Anders Lindegaard believes that Manchester United will bounce back from their poor start to the season and will fight their way to the top in no time.
United last night suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Sunderland in the first leg of their Capital One Cup semi-final in a competition that has this year became a cup that the champions will be desperate to win after their FA Cup exit against Swansea last weekend.
Speaking to the Independent Lindegaard said: "Manchester United is the most successful club in English football.
"We are in the middle of the transition. I am sure when the transition is fulfilled we will be as successful as we have ever been."
United face an uphill battle in the second leg of the tie but will have home advantage, which could put pressure on the manager to turn things around.
David Moyes is reported as having £200million in his pocket to spend on rebuilding a team that will take Manchester United back to the top.
However it seems more likely that Moyes will spend the majority of his transfer warchest in the summer.
With the Independent also reporting that Moyes has tried to bring in youngster Luke Shaw after a reported bid was rejected by Southampton. Although news of this failed attempt may frustrate fans it does show intent from Moyes who failed to make any significant signings since taking charge.
With other ins at Old Trafford such as Aturo Vidal, Ander Herrera and Koke all rumoured to be targets if United fans sit tight they may be in for a treat. After all this is a transition period.
