Lionel Messi returns with two goals in Barcelona cup rout

Lionel Messi came back with a bang last night as Barcelona ran out 4-0 winners against Getafe in the Copa del Rey, scoring twice on his return after two months out through injury.

The Argentinian wizard suffered a frustrating spell on the sidelines after picking up a thigh injury against Real Betis back in November.

However a spell back in his home country undergoing rehabilitation appears to have done him the world of good and he burst back onto the scene last night, coming on as a substitute for Andres Iniesta just after the hour mark.

It didn't take long for the Barcelona star to make his mark as he latched onto a loose ball in the box to slot home his 15th goal of the season with the game drawing to a close.

He soon doubled his tally for the game with a fine run and strike in extra-time to put Barcelona four up and comfortably in control of the tie ahead of the second leg.
