Top 6: Pointless Premier League signings (1)

Premier League club managers will be in overdrive at the moment as they will be scouring the transfer market in hope they can sign an unearthed gem.

Clubs will be wary of bringing in duds so a lot of time and effort will have gone into researching and scouting possible targets.

Despite how much work goes in before signing a player, some stars can impress at one club but fail to settle into life at a new club for one reason or another.

Just look at Sir Alex Ferguson's record in the transfer market.

The legendary manager managed to bring Cristiano Ronaldo to Old Trafford for a mere £12.24million - but forked out £28.1million a few years before on a player who failed to impress in the Premier League in the shape of Juan Sebastian Veron.

Here we list six Premier League signings we feel have proved to be pointless signings either because they have failed to break into their side's starting line up or they just weren't worth the amount of money their club bought them for.

Feel free to add any suggestions of your own in the comments box below.
