Robert Lewandowski confirmed the inevitable last week when the Poland international announced he would leave Borussia Dortmund at the end of the season to join Bayern Munich.

And what do Dortmund stand to make from the deal? Precisely nothing, of course.

Dortmund did all they could to convince their striker to remain at the Westfalenstadion but, regardless of the success they achieve, Jurgen Klopp's side will never be able to boast the allure of Bayern.

If loyalty was a greater valued commodity then a move like this would never happen and, although one can hardly blame Lewandowski for choosing Bayern, the football world has greeted the announcement with more sympathy for Dortmund than back-slapping for the Bavarians.

As once said by a velvet-voiced boy from Tottenham, if there was any justice in the world then such a transfer would not be completed (or something like that, anyway). With this in mind, here are seven switches that should never have been...
