Barcelona striker Lionel Messi has declared he plans to finish his career at the Camp Nou.
Messi returned to action last night after spending the previous two months injured, coming from the bench to score twice in Barca’s victory over Getafe.
Both times the offers were turned down by the player.
It's reported today that the striker has stressed his desire to stay with the club, saying: "I would like to finish my career at Barcelona."
Barca have missed the player during his time off but he has said the time was for the best
"I took a long time away, I felt very well in training and I'm slowly feeling better," he continued
Messi spent the majority of his recovery in his home country of Argentina.
"I felt good physically, I didn't feel any pain in the hamstring," the forward added. "I was very happy to be in my country. I worked well to get out of this. Now I'm looking forward to a great year."
Barcelona face second-placed Atletico Madrid next - a team only behind them in the league on goal difference.
Messi’s inclusion in the game is still yet undecided, but with the ability to score two off the bench in his first game back, even a sub appearance would be a worthwhile
