Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch could avoid a $50,000 fine for deciding not to talk to the media this season.
The 27-year-old announced on his Facebook page that he no longer owed the NFL any money after winning an appeal.
However, it transpires that Lynch will still need to pay the $50k fine if he continues to avoid the media - plus an additional $50k for continuing his protest.
"Ray Anderson heard the appeal and decided to hold the $50,000 in abeyance for now after Lynch committed to complying with league policy and with the understanding that any further violation will result in the $50,000 being collected and a minimum fine of $50,000 more being assessed," NFL spokesman Greg Aiello told the Seattle Times.
Lynch has since spoken to the media, but it's unclear whether his lacklustre performances in front of journalists will still land him in hot water.
