With the top of the Premier League closer than ever with Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea separated by a mere two points, all of the top clubs in the Premier will surely be looking to add firepower to boost their title chances.

An incredible fortune was splashed out in the summer from Premier League clubs, with the likes of Eric Lamela (Spurs), Willian (Chelsea), Mesut Ozil (Arsenal) and Fernandinho (Man City) all joining for multimillion fees.

Here we discuss eight transfer targets that would bolster clubs chances of success for the remainder of the season.

Freddy Guarin

There is much confusion regarding Guarin’s future, with multiple reports claiming that the Colombian will be staying in Italy.

The 27 year old is reportedly being tracked by various clubs, with Chelsea leading the race. He would certainly solidify the Blues' midfield and strengthen their title push.

Mario Mandzukic

Manchester United and Arsenal are both targeting the prolific Croatian striker, who has netted an impressive 10 goals in 16 Bundesliga appearances.

His impressive strength and finishing ability with his head as well as his right foot allowed him to stand out in an impressive Bayern side. Following the signing of Robert Lewandowski, Mandzukic won’t feature as often as previous years, meaning a move to the Premier League is looking even more likely.

Alvaro Morata

Mandzukic isn’t the only target man that Arsenal have taken an interest in. The 21-year-old Spaniard, who is also being tracked by Liverpool, doesn’t boast the most prolific scoring record for Real Madrid; however he was a regular scorer for Real’s B team.

He’s showed promise from a very young age, and would fit into perfectly to either clubs developing youthful setup.

Lacina Traore

Although West Ham aren’t in the hotly contested title race, they do find themselves struggling at the bottom of the table, without a lead talisman.

Sam Allardyce is known for preferring physically adept players, and Traore is no different. Standing at 6ft 8in tall, the 23-year-old would certainly suit the Hammers' style of play and has the ability as well as physical presence to become an instant success.

His move would only be temporary however, due to a recent move to the French team Monaco.

Diego Costa

We couldn’t have a list of potential stars without including this man.

19 goals in 18 La Liga matches speaks volumes about the talent the powerful striker possesses, who would seem to suit the physical nature of the English League very well.

The Athletico Madrid forward is wanted by multiple Premier League clubs, who would have to break to the bank to bring the 25-year-old to their respective clubs.
