Last night, Yaya Toure won his third successive CAF African Footballer of the Year award. It is very well deserved, as Toure has been arguably Manchester City's best player this season.
Not only has he contributed assists, power, pace and vision, he has also scored many goals. This year we've seen Toure score unbelievable free-kicks.
Toure has almost single handedly lead Manchester City to the position they are at now and they are firm favourites to win the league this year.
They have arguably the best squad in the league, at least on paper, and they have been on a roll of wins recently - even their away form has got a lot better. Toure was able to beat not only John Obi Mikel of Chelsea and Nigeria, but he also beat the legendary Didier Drogba of Galatasaray S.K. and Ivory Coast.
"What I am doing now, I am doing very well and I am very happy about that. It was quite tight - because it there were good opponents in front of me. Obi Mikel was doing well - and Drogba as well, so I was thinking maybe I would lose it. I am lucky today, I am very proud of myself," Toure was quoted by BBC Sport.
These quotes show the humble side of Toure. If Toure stays fit for the remainder of the season, there is no doubt in my mind that Manchester City will win the league this year.
