Arsenal made favourites to steal Chelsea striker

Arsenal have been made favourites to successfully reignite their interest in Chelsea forward Demba Ba and complete a shock switch by Feburary 1st.

SkyBet rate the Emirates as Ba's most likely destination before the transfer window slams shut at the end of this month, rating the likelihood of Ba forcing through a winter move across North London at a best-price 2/1.

Ba has been restricted to just two Premier League starts this season and is yet to complete 90 minutes in the top flight so far this term, leading to mounting speculation that the Senegalese forward will attempt to leave Stamford Bridge in search of first-team football.

Crystal Palace and former club West Ham have also been linked with pursuing Ba on a season-long loan switch, but are a distant second and third to the Gunners in terms of the betting stakes for a January move.

The Hammers come in at 3/1, while Palace rumours have not helped their lengthy price of 9/1 to persuade Ba that he should aid their fight against relegation.

Fiorentina are also included at a lofty 9/1 but Arsenal are well out in front at a double-your-money price, despite Arsene Wenger's insistence that he will not be rushed into the January market.

Nicklas Bendtner faces a further three weeks out, which when coupled with Theo Walcott's long-term absence is likely to leave Wenger changing his mind if further injury woe strikes in North London later this month.
