2× NBA Most Valuable Player (1997, 1999)
14× NBA All-Star (1988–1998, 2000–2002)
Karl Malone was a big-time bruiser but also had a soft touch on his jumper. He was one of the first guys to truly embrace weightlifting and kept himself in remarkable shape – making him one of the most durable stars in NBA history.
The name, The Mailman, was given to him in college by a sportswriter who covered Malone's Alma Mater, Louisiana Tech because he always seemed to deliver top notch performances.
Malone would play 18 seasons for the Utah Jazz and would become the second leading scorer in NBA history before retiring in 2005.
Where Malone made his mark was off the pick and roll with his buddy John Stockton. Malone would either pop for a quick jumper or roll HARD to the basket for a thunderous finish. Either way, Malone delivered.
