More than one NBA executive is of the opinion that high-flying Minnesota Timberwolves star Kevin Love wants to move to the LA Lakers at the end of the season, according to NBC Sports.

This follows rumours that Love is frustrated at his current franchise, as despite his consistently brilliant performances the team continues to struggle to do well.

The Timberwolves currently hold a record of 17-18 even though they boast the point differential of a franchise who could be sitting on 23-12. The simple explanation for their high points to low results ratio? Kevin Love is too good for the Timberwolves.

It’s widely thought that the 25-year-old power forward will look to opt out of his current deal when he gets the opportunity in 2015 but, if NBA big wigs are to be believed, he is hoping to move at the end of this season.

One Easten Conference executive reportedly said: “They should trade him.

“No one thinks he’s staying. Everyone knows he wants to go to the Lakers.”

Up next for Love and the Timberwolves is the Charlotte Bobcats tonight.
