Manchester United transfer target Ravel Morrison wants to leave West Ham this month, according to reports.

The Daily Mail claims the attacking midfielder does not see his long-term future in East London, and is eager to move in the January transfer window.

Morrison has been one of the Hammers’ top performers in a disappointing season for Sam Allardyce’s side thus far, and the manager has denied that the player will be made available to clubs, the report claims.

Manchester United know all about Morrison’s ability, having had the 20-year-old on their books as a junior. Indeed, the England U21 international was on the fringes of the first team when Sir Alex Ferguson allowed the youngster to leave.

He’s since been replaced by David Moyes at the Old Trafford helm, and the new Red Devils chief was linked with a move for the player back in December.

Morrison won't come cheap however, with an £18million release clause in his contract at Upton Park.

Whether that puts Manchester United off remains to be seen, but it appears the playmaker - who has just a year-and-a-half left on his contract - wants to leave.

It's also unclear whether Morrison would be willing to return to the Red Devils, having been offloaded for off-field matters in the past.
