Real Madrid like their Galacticos at the Santiago Bernabeu and it's fair to say the Argentina winger isn't quite up to that level.
Gareth Bale's world record move to Madrid in the summer meant the writing was on the wall for Di Maria, but the surprise move of Mesut Ozil to Arsenal meant a stay of execution.
The problem was that when Bale is fit he plays, and Di Maria usually doesn't. Cristiano Ronaldo isn't getting dropped any time soon and Spanish starlet Isco is a fan favourite, so the opportunities are limited.
A half decent bid for Di Maria would have a good chance of being accepted and even if he did stay, you don't see him wearing the shirt of los Blancos next season.
