Premier League champions Manchester United are weighing up a move for Valencia's cultured midfielder Ever Banega, according to the Sunday People.
United boss David Moyes is a long-term admirer of the 25-year-old Argentina international, who has been at the Mestalla since leaving Boca Juniors in 2008.
However, in order to land the £12.5m-rated midfielder before the winter transfer window closes, Moyes might need to agree to the sale of Mexican striker Javier Hernandez.
Valencia are keen on Manchester United's fourth-choice striker, but Moyes could be reluctant to sell the lively poacher with Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie currently struggling with injuries.
However, Banega is reportedly desperate to leave Valencia, and will have no shortage of potential suitors in the summer if United fail to sign him this month.
Tottenham and Arsenal are both reportedly interested in a summer transfer for the South American, as are Serie A sides AC Milan, Fiorentina and AS Roma.
