Chelsea playmaker Juan Mata is keen to join Jose Mourinho's arch-rival Pep Guardiola at Bayern Munich, according to the Mirror.

The 25-year-old is unsettled at Stamford Bridge after being left on the substitutes' bench for much of this season – and is prepared to wait until the end of the season in order to join the reigning European champions.

Guardiola is keen to bring Mata to the Allianz Arena and will urge the Bavarian club to make a £20m offer for the Spain international, whose hopes of playing at the 2014 World Cup finals in Brazil this summer have been severely hampered in recent months.

Mata, who won Chelsea's Player of the Year award in each of the last two seasons, has often been left out of the Blues' squad by Mourinho in favour of Brazil international Oscar.

But Guardiola, whose relationship with ex-Real Madrid boss Mourinho disintegrated during his time as the coach of FC Barcelona, sees a way to implement the left-footed attacking midfielder into his current system.

But whether Mourinho will agree to sell the Atlético Madrid target to his nemesis remains to be seen.
