Manchester United will have to fork out £20million on Fabio Coentrao if they want to tempt the Portuguese defender away from Real Madrid.
La Liga expert Guillem Balague believes Real Madrid will not sell Coentrao during the January transfer window - despite reports suggesting Manchester United are close to tying up a deal for the left-back.
Balague, writing in his guest column for Bleacher Report, is of the opinion that Real Madrid would only accept an offer of £20million for the Portuguese international.
The La Liga giants would rather wait until after the World Cup to sell Coentrao as they believe his price would rocket if the 25-year-old was to have a successful World Cup.
Manchester United came close to landing Coentrao in the summer but fell at the final hurdle as the Premier League champions did not submit the required paperwork in time.
David Moyes is still said to be keen on landing the former Benfica star, however he may have to wait until the summer before landing the left-back if Balague's claims are true.
