LeBron James backs San Francisco 49ers to win Super Bowl

Published Add your comment

Miami Heat star LeBron James will be happy to see San Francisco 49ers win the Super Bowl this year - despite the fact he is a Dallas Cowboys supporter.

The reason? Donte Whitner.

LeBron has backed his pal to go all the way and lift NFL's grand prize, tweeting: "Congrats to my homie @DonteWhitner on the game clinching INT and W! Since my Cowboys out I want him to win it all!"

As LeBron says in his tweet, Cowboys are now out of contention to win the Superbowl. Therefore, the NBA legend is getting behind the high-profile safety and the rest of his teammates.

The 49s recorded a 23-10 victory over the Carolina Panthers at the weekend - and now prepare for Saturday's clash against the Seattle Seahawks.

At the time of writing, San Francisco 49ers are currently third favourites to win the Superbowl behind the Seahawks and Denver Broncos.

But will they come out on top in New Jersey on February 2?

LeBron, for one, will be hoping so.
