Manchester United are on the verge of signing want-away Real Madrid star Fabio Coentrao on a six-month loan deal, according to the Express.
The left-back, who was thought to have been within hours of joining the Premier League champions last summer, only to see the deal collapse at the last minute, reportedly still has his heart set on a departure from the Bernabeu, and David Moyes is seeking fresh talent.
New reports are claiming that Madrid have agreed terms with the Old Trafford outfit over the idea of loaning Coentrao until the end of the season.
Other rumours then suggest that the Portuguese star could be bought in permanently for a mooted fee of £20million if the expected departure of Patrice Evra comes to fruition and Coentrao proves to be a hit in Manchester.
The 24-year-old has struggled to garner game-time under Carlo Ancelotti this season- he’s only managed four appearances- and is generally thought of as being surplus to the Los Blancos squad.
