Freiburg are ready to cut short Francis Coquelin's loan deal from Arsenal, reports talkSPORT.
Despite having secured a deal with the Gunners to have the 22-year-old until the end of the season, it now appears the German outfit are ready to let the French midfielder depart the club.
The 22-year-old has had a nightmare campaign in the Bundesliga and was recently voted the third worst signing in the league by German newspaper Bild.
And with Freiburg ready to let Coquelin leave the club, the midfielder looks set to head back to the Emirates and will have to fight for his place in the Arsenal side.
However with the Gunners flying high in the Premier League, Coquelin may struggle to get into the side in north London.
Arsenal have an array of talent in their midfield and Coquelin will be a long way down in the pecking order at the club should he make a return to the club.
Arsene Wenger's immediate focus will be on his side's clash with Aston Villa tonight. Arsenal will be hoping to secure all three points at Villa Park as they look to return to the top of the Premier League.
