Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo believes he will be ready to return to action by the end of February.

The 27-year-old tore his ACL at the beginning of last year and was forced into going under the knife the following month.

Rondo has had to sit out his side's opening 38 games of the current NBA campaign due to a serious injury he picked up in January 2013.

However the American believes he could finally end his injury nightmare by making his comeback within the next two months.

Rondo, speaking to ESPN, said on his injury:

"It may be this month [or] next month. It'll be before All-Star break."

The 27-year-old tore his ACL at the beginning of last year and was forced into going under the knife the following month.

The Celtics have struggled for form this season in Rondo's absence - with the Massachusetts-based franchise winning just 13 games out of a possible 38.

Rondo has admitted he has grown increasingly frustrated on the sidelines as he cannot impact his side's results.

Celtics head coach Brad Stevens will be hoping Rondo can help his side claim a spot in the playoffs when he does eventually return to action.
