We are now pretty much at the half way point of this season and it is around times like these when you do a little half-time review thingy.
While there is no way GMS is going to bother with a big, extensive mid-term report, we will take a little look at how the race for the Golden Shoe race is coming along.
For those sheltered individuals who are unaware of what this is, the European Golden Shoe is the award for the player that scores the most league goals in Europe.
Winners in recent years have been stellar names such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Diego Forlan, Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Francesco Totti.
GMS were having a little look at some of the leagues around Europe to see who is on the way to taking the 2013/14 award.
Then we came across the great website www.eurotopfoot.com and realised they were doing the brilliant work of keeping a close eye on the race.
So, for your perusal and in a lovely slideshow we have got the current top ten leading the race. Now, before you accuse GMS of not being able to do sums, bare in mind that it isn't solely the number of goals a player scores that counts.
The UEFA coefficient of the league where the goal was scored matters and so some goals scored are worth more than others, leading to a points system.
Anyway, click to start the slideshow and see the current top ten in the race for the European Golden Shoe...
