Top 5: Transfers that could spell disaster (2)

5: Kurt Zouma | Saint-Etienne to Chelsea

In the last few years Chelsea have been trumped only by Manchester City in their reputation for bringing young players in and then starving them of first-team game-time.

Saint-Etienne's highly-rated centre half Kurt Zouma has turned heads all over Europe, but the chances are that he won't be ready to slot into Jose Mourinho's setup and take over from either John Terry or Gary Cahill.

Ligue 1 is not the Premier League, Kurt Zouma is not an incredibly gifted youngster and Jose Mourinho is not known for placing his trust in players who have little or no pedigree...

If Zouma moves to Stamford Bridge this month, he could well be waving goodbye to his chances of playing regularly for the next few years.
