Deion Sanders will suit up and don the pads once again - for the Pro Bowl at least.

The legendary NFL cornerback will go head-to-head with fellow Hall of Famer Jerry Rice when the two pick sides in this year's revamped end of season football festivity.

Under the new Pro Bowl rules, Rice and Sanders will pick two teams from a list of players selected via the usual voting method.

They're supposed to then coach the guys through the game - but Sanders is raising the stakes.

On his verified Twitter account, Sanders wrote: "Ladies and Gentlemen I am official announcing "I WILL SUIT UP IN HAWAII" Please let @JerryRice know that a real captain leads by example."

Just prior to that tweet, Sanders had warned Patrick Peterson, a Pro Bowl selection from the Arizona Cardinals, that he would have to pick another number because 21 would be taken.

His tweet read: "@RealPeterson21 u may have to wear another number in the pro bowl for #teamDeion because your Captain may play in the #Probowl! WHAT!!"

For those of you keen to find out the teams for the Pro Bowl it will take place on January 22.

Will Jerry Rice rise to the challenge and play as well? You'll have to wait to find out - the Pro Bowl is set to take place the week before the Super Bowl.
