The 2013 FIFPro World XI was announced last night and, for the second year running, there wasn't a player from the Premier League in the team. 

Whilst many pundits and players suggest England's elite division is the best in the world, the stars plying their trade in the league continue to be overlooked in the World XI side. 

However, that could all change this year. All four English teams have secured their place in the Round of 16 in the Champions League and the Premier League's finest players will be targeting European success in this campaign. 

Additionally, with a World Cup just around the corner, the top stars from England will be able to express their talent on the biggest stage of them all. 

So, could 2014 be the year of the Premier League?
