Five things Manchester United must do in January (1)

Looking at the past, no Manchester United fan would expect the Old Trafford outfit to buy players as the club haven't spent vast sums of money in the January transfer window.

But the situation is now different, historically Manchester United haven't finished at 6th position in the league. It's a testing time for Moyes as he looks to bring in some of the faces he could not buy in the summer transfer window.

United do not lack the funds to buy world-class players. This is evident from the fact that United had placed a higher bid for Gareth Bale than Real Madrid, but the player was adamant to join the Galácticos.

Not only does David Moyes need to bring in new players, he also needs to get rid of the unwanted ones.

If the former Everton boss gets it wrong again as he did in the previous transfer window United could miss out on European football, losing revenue and making it more difficult to tempt new faces to Old Trafford.
