Manchester United may be down in a far-away land in the Premier League and the January transfer window will present an intriguing time for the club.

The champions are struggling - that's the bottom line. But this doesn't mean that United won't be able to finish the league well this season.

The month of January will undoubtedly give David Moyes a golden opportunity to bring in new recruits and strengthen his squad further.

But can the potential new signings make United into title contenders? The possibility looks somewhat far-fetched, but stranger things have happened.

Inconsistency has been a problem for all the Premier League sides including United but they could really take advantage of the open field if they are able to sign the right players.
