Chelsea midfielder set to return for Manchester United clash

Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard will be fit to face Premier League champions Manchester United at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, reports The Daily Star

The 35-year-old has been out of action for the past couple of weeks after suffering a muscle injury in the Blues' 2-1 victory over Liverpool at the end of last month.

And now - ahead of this weekend's crunch clash - Lampard could make his return to the side.

The England international returned to training last Wednesday and could be in-line for a start against David Moyes' side.

The veteran midfielder stepped up his training programme this week and it remains to be seen as to whether Jose Mourinho will pick his veteran midfielder.

Chelsea will be hoping to beat the Red Devils on Sunday as they look to continue their fine run of form. Meanwhile Manchester United will be desperate for the points themselves as they currently sit in seventh place in the Premier League, 11 points off leaders Arsenal.
