NFL Legend Deion Sanders - and one of the captains for the upcoming Pro Bowl - has been banned from suiting up for the event.
Sanders announced on Twitter he wanted to suit up and lead his team in the Pro Bowl saying:
@DeionSanders Ladies and Gentlemen I am officially announcing "I WILL SUIT UP IN HAWAII" Please let @JerryRice know that a real captain leads by example!
Sanders and Jerry Rice are set to captain the two squads in the first ever fantasy selection for the Pro Bowl in Hawaii.
Unfortunately though a spokesperson for the NFL said to Pro Football Talk that Sanders would not be playing the coaches roll.
The loss or banning of Sanders from playing will be seen as a disappointment as he and Rice are considered by many as some of the best players to play the game, and the comebacks could have been a big feature in the yearly game.
The draft will be on the 22nd of January, with the actual captains being decided by the players who received the most public votes, to get to the competition on Offence and Defence.
