Manchester United duo Rafael and Fabio da Silva could depart Old Trafford in the summer, according to their agent, Cassiano Pereira.

Italian source Calciomercato reports that Pereira has insisted that although the chances of either brother leaving the reigning Premier League champions this month are fairly slim, there’s every possibility they could depart at the culmination of the current campaign.

The news may come as a surprise to United fans, as Rafael has established himself as the first-choice right back with the Red Devils over the course of the last few seasons.

Fabio, on the other hand, has struggled to cement a position under either Sir Alex Ferguson or David Moyes and so would be an ideal candidate to be shipped.

However according to the Brazilian brothers’ agent, both may choose to leave in the summer.

"I don't know anything about these stories.

"I think they are just journalistic speculation.

"Today, I say that will remain in Manchester until the end of the season, but in summer it is very likely that they can leave."

Fabio, who spent last season on loan at relegated QPR, is likely to leave Old Trafford at the end of the season regardless of his own interests, as his contract runs out. Rafael has attracted the attention of Inter Milan and so could see himself moving to the Serie A.
