£25m Manchester United target arrives for Chelsea medical

Manchester United target Nemanja Matic has arrived in London ahead of his proposed medical with Chelsea, according to reports.

Sky Sports journalist Pete O’Rourke claims the Benfica defensive midfielder is on English soil, and set to undergo a medical ahead of a switch to Stamford Bridge.

He Tweeted: “Nemanja Matic has arrived in London to undergo a medical ahead of sealing his move to Chelsea.”

The nine-cap Serbian international spent two years with the Blues between 2009 and 2011, although one of those seasons was spent on loan in Holland.

And, having left for Portugal as part of the deal that saw David Luiz move to west London, it appears that the 25-year-old could be returning to Chelsea.

It’s sure to be a blow to Manchester United, who have also been linked with a move for the player – who will reportedly cost £25million.

David Moyes suffered a number of transfer disappointments after replacing Sir Alex Ferguson at the Red Devils helm in the summer, missing out on the likes of Cesc Fabregas and Thiago Alcantara.

And, with Matic not moving to Manchester United either, the Old Trafford outfit may now have to set their sights elsewhere.
