Nets and Hawks players visit Chelsea ahead of NBA game

The Atlanta Hawks and the Brooklyn Nets are in London ahead of the NBA Global Games London 2014 match up at the 02 on Thursday.

And today both teams paid a visit to the home of Chelsea FC where some famous footballer fans on hand to meet them.

First Chelsea's Andre Schurrle and Demba Ba hosted Kevin Garnett of the Brooklyn Nets.

Garnett is reportedly a huge Chelsea fan and admitted:

" I'm like a kid in a candy store right now!"

While getting a tour of Stamford Bridge, Garnett also took the opportunity to sit in Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho's seat on the bench.

Andre Schurlle spoke of Garnett's excitement (and his height):

"Kevin Garnett was really, really tall. It's unbelievable, 

"but when I saw him it was good to see how this great player who achieved so many things was so happy to be at our stadium."

The Hawks were next to visit.

Their German players Dennis Schroeder and Kyle Korver spent time talking to their compatriot Schurrle, and Korver presented the German international with his own Hawks jersey.

"It's great, and for them it's great to see the stadium and feel the atmosphere of Stamford Bridge." the 23-year-old winger said.

"I was in the States and saw some matches so was excited to see them and know how they feel to be here.

"I follow the NBA - there are a few German players there. I don't follow one team in particular, but really like some players. 

"Dennis is a good boy and I really hope he can make it there. We've had some conversations on Twitter before, so it was good to meet him and we'll stay in touch."

The Brooklyn Nets take on the Atlanta Hawks at the O2 Arena on Thursday January 16th as part of the NBA Global Games London 2014. Watch the game live on BT Sport 1 from 7.45pm.
