Manchester United have been boosted in the race to re-sign Ravel Morrison, due to the fact that West Ham have rejected Fulham’s advances, according to the Manchester Evening News.
The publication claims that United are interested in the idea of bringing back the youngster Sir Alex Ferguson sold to the Hammers, due to the fact that he has shown a marked improvement in both his performances on the pitch and his maturity on it.
The Old Trafford outfit have yet to publicly express any sort of intent to sign Morrison, but news that Fulham boss - and former United assistant - Rene Muelensteen has been rebuffed in his attempts to sign the starlet will likely be welcomed by the Premier League champions.
Muelensteen confirmed such rumours last night: "Yes, we did [put in a bid for Morrison] but we got knocked back," he told reporters.
According to the Manchester Evening News this leaves the door open for David Moyes to swoop on Morrison as he looks to improve his midfield. It's thought that the he could get the 20-year-old for as little as £10million due to a buy-back clause in Morrison's contract.
A host of changes are expected to take place at United this month, with a number of first-team stars having been linked with exits.
