Premier League: Stars who returned to their former clubs (1)

Chelsea are on the verge of re-signing former midfielder Nemanja Matic in a deal that will see them fork out £21million on the Serbian international.

The Blues allowed Matic to leave for nothing in 2011 as the 25-year-old was shipped out to Benfica as part of the deal that saw David Luiz seal a move to the west London outfit.

Matic has since gone on to prove Chelsea wrong by putting in a number of world-class displays for Benfica.

His form has resulted in Chelsea having to pay £21million for a star they had previously signed for a minimal fee when he was a relative unknown.

Manchester United have also been linked with a move for one of their former players. The Red Devils are apparently keen on enticing former midfielder Paul Pogba back to Old Trafford - but have been told they will have to stump up £40million for the France international.

We have decided to take a trip down memory lane to see who has rejoined a Premier League outfit after initially ending their affiliation with the club.

Click through the following pages to see who makes the list and feel free to rate the impact the following players had on their respective teams during their second spell at the club.
