New England Revolution's Juan Agudelo took to social media last night to announce that he has joined Premier League side Stoke City.
The striker tweeted: "@JuanAgudelo There's no other club that has supported and believed in me like @stokecity FC has. #SignedToday - 6 month loan imminent #Europeanfootballer."
Stoke manager Mark Hughes tried to sign the 21-year-old months ago but failed in his mission to land the American a work permit.
It was then decided that Hughes would sign the player on what is believed to be a four-and-a-half year deal and send him out on loan in order to gain the experience needed to gain a work permit.
Agudelo joins fellow Americans Geoff Cameron, Brek Shea (on loan at Barnsley) and Maurice Edu (on loan at Bursapor) in the Potteries and is Hughes' third signing of the window following Stephen Ireland's permanent move to the Britannia Stadium and John Guidetti's loan signing yesterday.
