There was at least something for the New Orleans Saints to smile about following their divisional round defeat against the Seattle Seahawks last weekend.
The Saints' dreams of a place in the Superbowl were dashed in Seattle as the Seahawks ground out a hard-earned 23-15 win on Saturday.
Despite the defeat however there was some good news for the Saints, who revealed today coverage of their game earned the NFL's best local TV market rating for the 2013 regular season.
According to SportsBusiness Daily, 52 percent of all homes in New Orleans were tuned into the game at CenturyLink Field.
That figure is up 13 percent from last season; a sure sign of the Saints' growing popularity.
Sean Payton's team topped the list ahead of the Denver Broncos, who came in with a 43.5 percent rating, while the Green Bay Packers were third with 42.9 percent.
The Oakland Raiders recorded the lowest figure of all 32 NFL franchises, with only 10.9 percent of local residents tuning in on average during the 2013 regular season.
