Since signing from Celta Vigo in summer, Iago Aspas has failed to make a huge impact and is now going to struggle to get games with In-form Daniel Sturridge now fit again.
Liverpool's £7 million Spanish forward has only registered a single goal in the English game since his switch last summer, and many people believe he is not the right person to be back up for the fearsome duo of Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge.
Aspas needs games, and it is very unlikely that he will be able to force his way into the current XI.
His best option may be to move out on loan for a season or two. It has been reported that he is a target for Valencia and Real Betis. A move back to Spain may allow him to regain the form that he showed whilst at Celta Vigo, and therefore make him the player the Kop really want.
However, if Liverpool did let Iago Aspas leave on loan, it would leave them very short on striking options, with only their feared 'SAS' combination, and no backup.
Raheem Sterling has been deployed upfront before, and Liverpool have proved in recent times that they can survive with just Luis Suarez or Daniel Sturridge playing one striker. Either way, allowing Aspas to return to Spain would reduce the options Liverpool have, especially with their goals to finish in the Champions League spots.
