Saint-Etienne defender has issued a 'come and get me' plea to Chelsea - saying he has 'loved' the west London club since childhood.

The highly-rated defender has been linked with a host of leading clubs across Europe in recent months, including the likes of Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United.

However it appears as though Chelsea have the upper hand in the race for his signature after the 19-year-old declared his love for the club.

He said in an interview with French newspaper L'Equipe: “I will always take Chelsea [over all others].

"I loved this club since childhood and blue is my favourite colour.

"In my head, it is clear: I want a change. When going abroad, it’s make or break. But it is a risk worth taking.”

In the same interview, Zouma also revealed that he had been in contact with Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho over a potential switch.

According to reports, Saint-Etienne are asking for around £10 million in order to let Zouma leave.

Should Chelsea swoop for the talented young defender it would be their second major signing of the January transfer window following the arrival of Nemanja Matic yesterday.

The Blues have also been linked with a £20 million move for Southampton ace Luke Shaw.
