Manchester United have entered a bidding war with Chelsea and Manchester City for the signing of Southampton left-back Luke Shaw.

The 18-year-old, who is widely regarded as one of the Premier League's most promising players, reportedly wants to leave St Mary's after Saints' chairman Nicola Cortese resigned last night.

As well as Shaw, Chelsea are also interested in signing Saint-Etienne defender Kurt Zouma.

The 19-year-old confirmed that is keen on a move to Stamford Bridge following encouraging talks with Jose Mourinho.

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini was delighted with his side's 5-0 FA Cup third round replay victory over Blackburn Rovers last night.

City took their tally to 99 goals in all competitions for the season - and Pellegrini is pleased that his players have bought into his attacking philosophy.

And finally, Barcelona coach Tata Martino believes Lionel Messi is unfazed after losing out to Cristiano Ronaldo in the 2013 Ballon d'Or voting.

Martino is strongly of the option that Messi is the greatest player in world football - and says the 26-year-old is fully focused on winning trophies with Barcelona and Argentina.
