Manchester United star moves closer to Old Trafford exit door

Manchester United midfielder Anderson is on his way to Italy to complete a loan move to Serie A outfit Fiorentina, according to the Daily Mail.

The 25-year-old was spotted at Manchester Airport earlier today and reportedly confirmed that he was flying to Italy to start the next chapter of his career.

Anderson will join Fiorentina until the end of the season before having the option of leaving Manchester United on a permanent basis in the summer.

The former Porto star has failed to impress Manchester United boss David Moyes over the first six months of the season - playing just seven games out of a possible 32 since the former Everton manager's arrival at the club.

Anderson was signed by former Manchester United chief Sir Alex Ferguson in 2007 from Portuguese side Porto for a fee said to be in the region of £24million.

The Brazilian, who was tipped to become the 'next Ronaldinho' when he sealed a move to the Premier League, failed to live up to expectations but always managed to dodge the Old Trafford exit door under Ferguson.
