Lionel Messi scores solo wondergoal in Barcelona cup rout

If this is what he's like after two months out through injury, how good is he going to be when he's 100% match fit?

Lionel Messi made his first start since suffering a thigh injury before Christmas against Getafe in the Copa del Rey last night - and it didn't take long for him to make an impact.

The tie was effectively over after Messi came off the bench for his first appearance since his injury in the first leg earlier this month, bagging a brace to help Barcelona to a 4-0 win.

Despite that Barcelona boss Gerardo Martino fielded a strong team that included both Messi and Neymar, and it was the former who had the biggest impact.

The Argentinian made it 5-0 on aggregate on the stroke of half time - but it was after the break that he demonstrated the full extent of his genius.

Picking up the ball around 35 yards from goal, Messi shook off his marker and cut through Getafe's defence, before rounding the keeper and slotting home with a pinpoint finish.

He must be annoyed that someone took his Ballon d'Or away from him...

Check out his brilliant goal above!
