Chelsea's starting XI to face Manchester United - prediction

Published 2 Comments

Manchester United travel to Stamford Bridge to take on Chelsea on Sunday in the hope of picking up back-to-back wins that will put their quest for a top-four finish back on track.

Before their 2-0 win over Swansea last weekend, Manchester United had lost three games in a row for the first time in more than 10 years.

Now they are in 7th, 11 points off league leaders Arsenal, but perhaps more crucially they are five points adrift off Liverpool who currently occupy 4th place.

The omens are not great however; Manchester United haven't beaten Chelsea in their last five attempts in all competitions.

Their last win against the Blues did come at Stamford Bridge however, back in 2012.

Wayne Rooney is close to full fitness but won't feature, while Robin van Persie will also miss the game.

For Chelsea, they could find themselves top of the Premier League if results go their and if they can secure all three points against the Red Devils -something they'e become used to doing in recent seasons.

Manager Jose Mourinho has confirmed that new signing €25 million Nemanja Matic won't go straight into the team.

Chelsea predicted starting line-up: Petr Cech, Ashley Cole, Cesar Azpilicueta, John Terry, Gary Cahill, John Obi-Mikel, Ramires, Eden Hazard, Willian, Oscar, Fernando Torres

Predicted score: Chelsea 2-1 Manchester United
