Real Madrid are preparing a summer move for up-and-coming left back Alberto Moreno, paving the way for Manchester United to sign Fabio Coentrao, reports Spanish newspaper AS.
The Portuguese international has been strongly linked with a January move to Old Trafford with both a loan and a permanent deal thought to be possible.
But with Patrice Evra expected to remain at Manchester United until the end of his contract in the summer, the need for a new left-back is not an urgent requirement for David Moyes.
Reports in Spain suggest that Real Madrid will be willing to negotiate a permanent deal for £20m-rated Coentrao in the summer and are already seeking replacements.
AS say that Sevilla starlet Moreno will be the main target for Florentino Perez as he continues his drive to get as many of Spain's young stars playing at the Bernabeu.
The player currently has a £25m buyout clause in his contract but Sevilla are willing to sell the 21-year-old for half that.
Plans to sign Moreno hint that Ancelotti is preparing for the departure of Coentrao.
Manchester United came close to signing him in the summer and are believed to still be interested in renewing their interest once the season has finished.
