5 moments that formed the Carroll - Harbaugh rivalry (6)

"They're winning because they're cheating." - 2013

Jim Harbaugh has always been a bit of a media enigma.

And in June 2013 when speaking to reporters in the off-season he couldn't help but stoke the flames of controversy when responding to questions concerning the Seahawks' performance enhancing drugs scandal at the time.

While he was careful not to publicly accuse Carroll and the Seahawks of wrongdoing, his comments were interpreted by many as an attempt to give him the moral high ground over his divisional rivals.

On the scandal Harbaugh had this to say:

"I've definitely noticed it.

"You want to be above reproach, especially when you're good, because you don't want people to come back and say, "They're winning because they're cheating."

No doubt Carroll was listening attentively as Harbaugh was speaking.

"I don't know about commenting about anybody else's team, but as far as we're concerned we feel like we've addressed it directly," he told media in the aftermath.

... And who knows, maybe Sundays match up will provide another talking point among two of the NFL's best, and most intense, coaches.

Lets hope so.
