Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has denied rumours he is ready to turn to Mirko Vucinic to add depth to his striking options.
Wenger has been heavily linked with a move for a striker in the January window, and the Daily Mail have reported that Vucinic is his priority.
The 30-year-old Montenegro striker is out of favour at Juventus as summer arrivals Carlos Tevez and Fernando Llorente continue to impress.
The Daily Mail claim contact has already been made between Arsenal and the Serie A leaders regarding a possible loan move, or a £10million permanent switch.
However, Wenger has played down his interest, and refused to be drawn on any other possible targets, the Arsenal boss said: "We are looking at potential possibilities for us to get someone in, but we are not especially in for Vucinic.
"I would love to announce something that would excite you and me, but I don't have the possibility to do it."
A move for a goalscorer is expected, with Nicklas Bendtner being the only recognised striker offering competition to Olivier Giroud.
Theo Walcott has expressed a desire to play through the middle but his season was cut short by a knee injury which will put him out of action for six months.
Despite a striker shortage, Arsenal continued to show their class yesterday with a 2-0 win over Fulham, and Wenger was keen to talk about his sides form as opposed to any possible new arivals.
He told Sky Sports: "We have played 22 games and have 51 points. If you compare that to any other season you will see that it is one of the best, if not the best ever so let's just continue.
"We have a good solidarity in the group and we rotate a bit and sometimes great players sit on the bench.
"You want me to buy more players but if they sit on the bench you ask why."
The Gunners remain one point clear of second-placed Manchester City following Saturday's victory, courtesy of two goals from midfield maestro Santi Cazorla.
Despite limited option in attack, Wenger's team have had 13 different goalscorers in the league this season, with Giroud being the top marksman with nine.
