There was no time to celebrate for Chelsea striker Demba Ba as he hit the weights after the 3-1 victory over Manchester United - and was there until midnight.

Admittedly the Senegalese forward was not part of the match day squad on Sunday, but as Jose Mourinho noted after the game, he's set to play a massive role for the club over the next few weeks.

Fernando Torres picked up a ligament injury after coming on as a second-half substitute, and Mourinho told the media after the game: "It's time for Demba."

He was clearly listening, because the Chelsea man hit the gym straight away in a bid to get into tip-top shape for the upcoming fixtures against Stoke City in the FA Cup and West Ham in the Premier League.

Top work from the big centre-forward.

With Torres out, it will be up to Ba and Samuel Eto'o to carry the goalscoring load for the Blues.

And the Cameroonian international put in his best performance yet in a Chelsea shirt this weekend, bagging a hat-trick in the 3-1 win over the defending Premier League champions.

Check out Ba's Instagram video of his midnight gym workout below...
