Rajon Rondo is expected to be traded by the Boston Celtics, reports cbssports.
The 27-year-old has just returned to the Boston setup after ACL surgery, however it now appears that his long term future with the team is in doubt.
However it remains to be seen as to whether the Celtics will opt to trade Rondo next month or wait until June at draft time.
But, it's looking increasingly likely that Rondo will depart the team at some point in the near future.
With the Celtics looking to re-build, and Rondo on on a mega contract, the team will be hoping to secure enough funds to move forward without their prize asset.
For now though, Rondo will continue to star at the Celtics and the team's immediate attention will turn to Wednesday's clash with the Miami Heat.
The Celtics have lost back-to-back games, with their latest setback coming in a 93-91 defeat against the Orlando Magic yesterday and they will be desperate for victory against the Heat.
