Spurs have recently agreed a fee and terms with FC Toronto for the departure of Jermain Defoe who has experienced a difficult season at the north London club.
On February 28 the highly regarded goal poaching striker will leave Spurs, meaning Tim Sherwood is left with only two recognised first team strikers available. Many questions have been raised as to who the replacement would be.
Goran Pandev could be a man who Napoli would allow to move after they have secured two new signings. At a height of 6 ft, he is a very different player to the 5 ft 7 in Jermain Defoe, who is nimble on his feet with a low centre of gravity.
While they are of similar age, Defoe was a fan favourite and it will take a big player to fill his boots. One of the options being considered by Tottenham is a swap deal involving the under performing Etienne Capoue.
Pandev is also considered a top player for his national team, with the Macedonian having racked up a total of 26 goals making him their all time to scorer. He also has plenty of experience at the top level having won the Serie A in the same season as winning the Champions League and the FIFA Club World Cup with Inter Milan.
Despite being a tall player he has never been well known for his heading but more for his unbelievable long shots and power. I would argue that he is exactly what Spurs need to bring them into that coveted top four.
