Manchester United boss David Moyes is confident that he can convince Paris Saint-Germain forward Edinson Cavani to come to Old Trafford, according to French newspaper Le 10 Sport.

The Uruguayan forward has been linked with a move to the Premier League champions in recent days as reports claiming he is unsettled at the Parc des Princes continue to surface.

It’s been rumoured that Cavani is unhappy with the fact that he has been forced to play out of position this season as Zlatan Ibrahimovic has claimed the lone striker’s role for himself. As such United are prepared to take advantage of the situation by offering him a way out via a switch to the Premier League.

Only yesterday did it emerge that Sir Alex Ferguson has spoken to PSG manager Laurent Blanc in an attempt to discern whether or not a potential deal for Cavani, who is rated at close to £55million, would be feasible.

Moyes is now said to be confident he can lure the 27-year-old to England at the end of the season, when he will begin a large scale overhaul of the current squad in a bid to improve the club’s recent fortunes.
