Polish goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has been praised by Arsene Wenger after an impressive start to the campaign.

Szczesny has kept 10 clean sheets in the Premier league this season, which is the highest out of all the 'keepers so far this year.

The Pole has only conceded one goal in the last five matches in all competitions and has been a revelation for the Gunners this campaign, despite enduring criticism last term.

And now Wenger believes Szczesny is one of the best keeper in the league.

According to Arsenal Player, the Arsenal boss said: "Certainly a part of his improvement is mental because he’s more mature.

“His decision-making is cleaner, sharper, quicker. He was always a very talented boy but because he’s intelligent he learns quickly from experience.

“I’m happy that I always gave him the confidence because he’s developing very well into a very strong goalkeeper and today certainly nobody would question that he’s one of the top five goalkeepers in the Premier League.”

Szczesny made his 100th Premier League appearance for Arsenal when they beat Fulham 2-0 last Saturday. The 23-year-old has improved a lot over the last few years and is very consistent now.

The Gunners have struggled in recent years with goalkeepers but Szczesny has cemented his place in the first team and looks as though he will be the Arsenal 'keeper for many seasons to come.

Arsenal host Coventry City on Friday in the fourth round of the FA Cup but the Polish international is likely to be rested until the north London side take on Southampton in the Premier League at St Mary's in their next fixture.
